Jackson's day

Tuesday night as my sweet boy and I were laying in bed, he began to chatter. I normally tell him it’s time to go to sleep, but last night I just listened…and oh how he had so much to say!! It started like this...

J – I see Memo (His grandma)

Me – you saw Mema? Did you have fun?

J – say “ready to eat?” chair.

Me – She said “are you ready to eat and you got in your chair?”

J – see papa

Me – you saw papa when you were eating? Did you see Walter(his sister’s dog)?

J – Walter. Emmy’s bedroom.

Me – Did you chase Walter into Emmy’s bedroom.

J – Emmy’s bedroom. See daddy truck.

Me – did you go for a ride with daddy in his truck?

J – see tractors. Two tractors. I ride them. I like them.

Me – you saw tractors with daddy and you got to ride them? How neat.

J – see memo

Me – you saw Mema again?

J – play sand. See Hannah (the outside dog).

Me- you saw Hannah?

J – hair. like a pillow.

Me – Is hannah’s hair like a pillow?

The awesome thing is…all of this really happened. He told me his day in one to three word sentences!!

Weekend Re-cap

Friday night, we had my niece’s birthday party at my house.
Luckily, all I had to do was pick up the house a little bit for it. Her mom
bought the cake and ice cream, pop and pizza! We had a good time sitting
outside…it was not incredibly hot, thankfully! Jackson had so much fun…he was
so hyper and wound up! Poor Haylei got stung by a wasp out by the swingset and then
my step dad went out to spray wasp spray and kill them and he got stung!

Saturday morning, we were up and at it early. I took Jackson
to the barber shop to get a haircut, thankfully we were in and out within 20
minutes! Then we stopped to get the oil changed in the van. It was scheduled to
get detailed later that day, so I wanted to go ahead and get the oil changed.
When we got home, jack drew with some sidewalk chalk in the garage and driveway
and rode his 4 wheeler. He actually will NOT push the button on the 4 wheeler
to make it go. He prefers to move it with his legs, he’s so finicky about
things!!

We met my mom and sister for shoe shopping and lunch!
Jackson got his first piece of bubble gum and he kept it in his mouth for a
good 30 minutes…he still didn’t swallow it, he gave it to my nephew!

Saturday afternoon, we went back to shopping with Haylei. She
and Jackson both got a new pair of tennis shoes and we went to Marshall’s and
found her quite a bit of shirts and some shorts for back to school! She was
super excited!!

My van door got broken…like the whole mechanism that shuts
the door was broke. So we had to drive
home from my mom’s house with Matt holding it somewhat shut.

Sunday, I was up bright and early to head to teach at
LifeKids. Matt brought the kids and met me for second service. We went to lunch
afterwards at I Don’t Care Bar and Grill…it was our first time there…it was
very good! I had fried catfish, cesear salad and homemade onion rings! Haylei
had a corn dog and Jackson shared my food. We’ll definatley go back soon!!

We came home and Jackson took a nap, while Matt and Haylei
went to Bass Pro. After naps and grocery shopping, we jumped in the pool!

July happenings

This brown eyed boy of mine has been such a joy lately. That’s not to say he’s not a joy every day, but he’s been minding and making good choices (ie, not throwing a fit when I ask him do to something or tell him that he can’t take a toy to daycare).

He’s enjoying his summer by swimming, throwing rocks in the pond when he goes on golf cart rides with Mema in the pasture, running around outside anytime he can sneak out. He loves all things firetrucks (wee-woo’s), monster trucks, dogs, heavy equipment, and ice cream!

At 2.5 years old, he’s wearing a size 3t shirt and 18 mths or 2T shorts. He’s just bumped up to a size 8 shoe and wearing a size 5 diaper.

A few funnies from this last month…
-          Not funny, but it happened. He was TERRIFIED of the fireworks. I mean TERRIFIED.
-          While laying in bed, I said “I love you Jackson” and he replied “I lush you” and I said “you do? How much?” he replied “A bunch”. Melted my heart.
-          Another night in bed, I was kissing him right by his mouth and he just grinned great big. He then began flicking his little tongue out like a lizard and his smile got even bigger. He was totally happy and content, lying in bed next to me. And I just love it!
-          Last night, while we were at his grandparent’s house. His papa got him an ice cream cone and he kept hollering “ice Ceeeaaannnn”
-          He’s started calling things by their name…ie, Thomas the train used to be simply “choo-choo”, now he says Thomas Choo-Choo. Blaze, the Monster Truck, used to be “trucks” and now its Blazes. And he wants to watch Blazes All. Day. Long. Every. Day. J
-          He was pushing his dump truck all over the house, he said “Ready momma”, and then took off!

Just last week, he finally quit crying when I take him to daycare each morning, which is a TOTAL and complete relief. Crying baby is hard on this momma’s heart.

My little man is 21 months old!! I feel like he has learned a ton this month and is really starting to jabber! He's done exceptionally well at drop off in the mornings, he kinda kisses me and heads off to the you closet.

Along with his normal list of words from previous months, he also says horsey, pronounced "Horsweee" which is melt my heart cute! He has started signing please. He also has added papa to his vocabulary. We're working on less and less time with the binky and more sleep time in the crib. Some nights he stays in all night and some nights notsomuch. I think he's working on getting his 2yr molars and that's making him crabby and not wanting to eat very much.

18 mths!

My oh my! My sweet pea is a whole year and a half  old!! He's growing by leaps and bounds! He still weighs 23 lbs and 2 ozs and is 32.5 inches tall. Growing out of a size 6 shoe (which is a whole big dilemma for me!) still wears size 18 mth shirts and 12 mth shorts and a size 4 diaper.

He loves milk and bananas! Every morning on the way to his sitter's house, he eats a banana and has his milk. He loves cooked carrots, strawberries, green grapes, watermelon, green beans and any type I regular bean. His favorite dinner is spaghetti!

New things he's doing this month: hopping, saying bubbles, ball, bow, and I'm sure there is more I'm forgetting! He's slowly starting to like the water.

Goes to bed at 8ish and is awake by 6:15. He generally takes one nap and that's from 12:30-2:30. He goes to his sitter at least 4 days a week now and Mema usually keeps him one day a week.

4th of July!

We had a great 4 day weekend!!

Friday afternoon, Haylei and I met my mom for pedicures! We had a good time and Haylei talked our ears right off! As soon as we got back from there, Jackson had just woke up, so we got changed into bathing suits and headed off to my brother’s house for a cookout, swimming and fireworks!

The kids all enjoyed swimming…Jackson wasn’t a fan of the pool, it was too chilly for him! But…he did climb up the ladder to the slide, so my brother finished helping him up…I stood at the bottom and down came Jackson, he slid down, no life jacket, by himself!!! I couldn’t see him well, because the sun was right in my eyes, but as soon as he hit the water, I scooped him right up. He did it a second time. Crazy boy!!

I then got some baby holding time in. Baby Leyo, my 4 week old great nephew. J

Saturday, we had lots of playing outside…we played in the sand and water and on the big fort, where Jackson also climbed the ladder on that and slid down the big slide. No fear I tell you. Then P and A came over with Andrew and they all played for quite a while. We finished by eating Mexican food!

I had taken the day off on Monday, so the kids and I went up to my job, to let the girls see Jackson. Afterwards, it was still a little early in the day, so we went to Chick-Fil-A for an early lunch and to hopefully let them play in the play area. It worked out wonderfully! Jackson was the best he’s ever been in a resteraunt! He even got to go through the big structure once!!

17 mths!!

Jackson is now 17 months old! Where, oh where does the time go?! He is so funny and cute and such a little boy!!

Weight – 23 lbs
Height – 32.5 inches
Wears an 18 mth in shirts and 12 mth in shorts and a size 6 shoe and size 3 or 4 diaper
Says:
Momma, dadda, hey, sissy, bubba, book, boat, moo, ba, thank you, **signs more, yes and please**, Haylei, nana, uh-oh, Jack-Jack, bath,  and “brmmp” anytime he sees a piece of heavy equipment.

He LOVES, LOVES, LOVES his cousins!!!! He still loves to carry anything small or stick like around.  There is a certain Little Peoples truck he has, that he loves to push around. LOVES books! We’ll spend an hour every Saturday morning reading books.
He knows where his ears, teeth, hair and feet are.

Every night when its bathtime, he runs to the bathroom and says “Ath” for bath. After he gets done and his jammies are on, he’ll run to his bedroom and to our rocking chair. If I don’t come into his room, he’ll come back out and look at me like “hello? Aren’t you coming to rock me?” He is so funny. He loves for me to sing “you are my sunshine” and “Jesus loves me” when he’s going to sleep. Anytime I put his shoes on, he’ll run to the door to go bye, bye. I open the door and he’ll run to his side of the van and wait for me to open his door…such a smart little guy.

My sweet Jackson,
There are no words to describe my love for you…you are so strong willed and stubborn, yet so sweet and tender. When I pick you up, you put your arms around my neck so tight and then run your fingers in my hair. You are definitely my sunshine on dark and dreary days, but also every day in between. I love watching you grow and discover and learn! I hope and pray I can be the best momma for you and that you’ll always know just how special you are. I love you to the moon and back little man!!
